Project > FIRE ENGINE

The fire engine is a Renault ‘Dodge 50’. It is a mongrel mix which evolved from the
van company ‘Commer’ which was bought out by ‘Chrysler’ who gave it the
American looking cab. Chrysler was then bought out by Renault who put on the
company badge and maybe installed the electrics. The four wheel drive capability was
fitted by Renolds Boughton. This ’50’ series became a cult vehicle and there is a web
site devoted to it. www.dodge50.co.uk

This model is a 4 wheel drive and is fully kitted out as a trekking vehicle with a long
range tank and ability to run on recycled vegetable oil. Incorporated is a kitchen,
dining area, shower, toilet, and double bed. Interior lighting is with LEDs and it has
rear view and reversing cameras with a monitor in the cab.
